Disclaimers for Typing Services

Please read this important information before getting typed by us.


  1. Please do not purchase our services unless you are actually receptive to our typing. We feel no obligation to give results that match your self-concept. Our goal is to provide accurate typings through the scientific method — not to cater to what type you think you are or might want to be.

  2. We believe that someone’s type shows at any given point. That doesn’t mean someone’s state of being can’t be a confounding factor, but we believe within a few minutes of talking, your type will invariably leak into your language, facial expression, speed of speech, and eye movement. We mention this because customers who aren’t pleased with their typing results may be inclined to convince themselves that their video was not representative of who they are and how they function. Footage of you talking — even pretending to be another type — will still be representative of your personality structures.

  3. Assume that you have mistyped yourself. Our data suggests there's about an 80% chance you did. No one has the ability to view themselves objectively. That's why you're buying our product. We play the role of an indifferent third party committed to accuracy, having no investment in our customers being any particular type. Please understand that this means the result you receive may be unexpected, difficult to process, or uncomfortable.

  4. We are not responsible for convincing you of our result. If you purchase a commentary, you have bought an unpacking of our typing process, but we will not argue with customers until they feel completely assured our typing makes sense on their terms. Please understand that by purchasing a typing from us, you are choosing to believe that our product is as unbiased and objective as possible — you are choosing to trust our scientific experience and expertise.

  5. Our understanding of the types has been shaped by data collection and organization based on behavioral patterns we've located over years of study. This means that we allow our research to inform how we believe the types work. We find most content online explaining the Enneagram to be consistently inaccurate, and not based in anything objective. Because of this important distinction in theoretical belief about how the types function, it is almost guaranteed that the way we have learned to see type will differ from the way you have, as well as how most others in the Enneagram community have.   6. We love talking to our customers about their typings, and we want to help you learn about yourself in a meaningful way. However, this product is not a coaching service or therapy session. We are not responsible for any emotional or mental processing that may occur as a response to being typed.

  7. We require video footage for someone to purchase a typing with us. Our customers’ typing videos are not posted or shared online, but are kept for our private reference. If you’re comfortable with us using your video for educational content, you’re welcome to check the “Teaching Permission” checkbox when you submit your typing form.

  8. We return a typing result to our customers within two weeks of purchase. Our typical turnaround time is closer to a week, but we budget 14 days in case of busier workflow on our end.

  9. We're always honing and perfecting our skills. Even though we believe we offer the most accurate and behavioral typing service on the market, we can't promise mistakes aren't possible. Your results are based on the materials we have at the time of your typing. As our dataset grows and we continually improve at our trade, we may find we've made an error. When this occurs, we'll do our best to rectify the error and inform you of what we found.
